Prodigal Posse to Promote Dominica Music and Culture
The Dominican.net Newsdesk

Several Dominican music artists based in North America have come together to form the Diaspora band called Prodigal Posse following a meeting held in Chicago on Sunday March 19, 2006.

Six members of the group met to discuss the projects, they are Ras Mo Moses, Brian Rocque, Cleve Hurricane Jean-Jacques, Joseph Iwa Lambert, Gilbert Prince La Williams, and Nideck Adams. Other artists involved are Lazarus Lazo Jno. Finn, Osborne Ifeel Joseph, and Wendy Robin. From October to November 2006, the band will participate in activities celebrating Dominicas 28th independence anniversary, in Dominica, the USA and Canada.

Plans also include the release of three CD singles featuring solo and collaborative songs between June and October 2006. On an ongoing basis the group will work with the DAAS Arts and Culture Committee and other groups and organizations to promote Dominicas music and tourism overseas.

The name Prodigal Posse is an expression of the artists willingness to return and give to their birth land Dominica, from which they migrated. The group hopes to facilitate a concept of fluidity allowing the participation of other musicians.
