Bridgetown, Barbados -- Shane Shillingford fresh from his heroics against the visiting Zimbabwe team wreaked havoc in the Regional Four Day Tournament handing the Windward Islands a rare 181 run win against Barbados in that country.

Shillingford took 8 for 82 in the second innings to restrict the Barbados bowlers to 221 with the two other wickets going to fellow Dominican and captain Liam Sebastian. Earlier, he had grabbed 4 for 20 in the first innings to bowl out Barbados for a paltry 64, taking 12 for 102 in the match. In response, the Windward Islands scored184 in the first innings and 301 for 4 in the second with former West Indies opener Devon Smith hitting an unbeaten 150.

The Dominica off spinner fresh from his ten wicket haul against Zimbabwe on Friday, which forced a win in under three days was able to fly out of Dominica that night and join his team in Barbados to begin play on Saturday for the four day encounter.

After scoring 64 in the first innings, Barbados chasing 386 for victory looked set to make a match of it reaching 68 without loss before Shillingford was introduced. In his first over he dismissed opener Boucher and Captain Kirk Edwards and never looked back, taking wickets at regular intervals as the Barbadian batsmen struggled to come to terms with his bowling.

The Windward Islands are currently at the top of the Regional standings on 48 points and will have a bye this weekend before taking on the Leeward Islands the following weekend.
