Bridgetown, Barbados (TDN) -- One hundred thousand persons praying in one accord in the Caribbean! For the past five years, “PRAYER WARRIORS INTERNATIONAL” headed by former Barbados Fast Bowler, Pastor Courtney “Sellie” Selman, has organized “Caribbean day of Prayer”. He said “every year the day of prayer always falls on March 4th, using the theme “MARCH FORTH ON YOUR KNEES.” Selman said “this year they have added “IN ONE ACCORD.”
He told us, “with all the challenges we are facing in our homes, in our Governments, in our communities and even in our Churches, the best and more powerful course of action we can adopt, is the weapon of talking to God in Prayer; citing a verse from the scriptures, 2nd Chronicles 7 verse 14, which states “IF MY PEOPLE WHICH ARE CALLED BY MY NAME, SHALL HUMBLE THEMSELVES, AND PRAY AND SEEK MY FACE, AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS ....... AND WILL HEAL THEIR LAND.”
He said “he aims to have 100,000 persons praying in Barbados and across the Caribbean, at different hours throughout the 24 hour day, every day from March 4th, to December 31st, 2013. Selman told us, “PRAYER WARRIORS INTERNATIONAL” which has three weekly popular radio broadcasts in Barbados, including a children’s program, wrote thousands of Church leaders and Churches across the region asking for their prayers, blessings, support and participation.
He said “the focus of prayer this year is Government Leaders, Religious Leaders, Families, especially our children, illegal drugs, the proliferation and the use of firearms, crime, storms and the economic crisis facing our Countries.”
In the past, Selman, who last played for Barbados in 1974 against England, said “P.W.I.F. along with other religious groups have travelled and prayed with or for many schools, the Ports of entry, such as the Sea port and Airport, Businesses and both the print and electronic Medias in Barbados.
Selman has asked Churches, Businesses and Schools in the Caribbean to start the day on March 4th with a special prayer. Pastor Selman said “he is also asking some Churches in close proximity to Schools, to conduct a mid-day service, and to invite the Schools to join the service.
He invites persons to log into primeministerprayerteam.org a website that was specifically built to address and pray for the many challenges our leaders face in the Caribbean, to download a commitment form. He further stated rather boldly and unequivocally “that as a result of these prayers we are going to see and experience some miraculous and morally positive changes in our homes, countries, schools, churches and economies. “
