Juliana Magloire- A Story of a Man His Boat and the Sea
Thomson Fontaine

In her very first novel, "The Sea Hawk", Dominicas newest author Juliana Magloire tells the intriguing tale of a Man, a Boat, and the Sea. This vastly inspiring tale recounts the life of her father who devotes himself to the sea, his family and the people of his town. The book also explores the traditions and bravery of the quickly disappearing breed of the wayfaring ocean man.

It is extremely inspiring in the way it causes you to think of all those simple people you have known, whose only claim to fame is that they touched the lives of all those who came in contact with them in a positive way.

The book wondrously redefines trials, challenges and life in general, and shows how these have a way of bringing out the very best in us if we would only accept them as gifts.

In The Sea Hawk, the story of this simple hero who neither feared the rumblings of nor the vastness of the ocean, exemplifies the characteristics of simplicity, and quiet confidence, born of an impressive personality, which gained precedence over adversity.

In the end, it is a tale of the triumph of the human spirit. The unquenchable zest for life, and the indomitable nature of a man born to roam the waves and find the inner peace to affect those around him.

Juliana who currently resides in the United States is a linguist and author, fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, French and English. She was born in the town of Portsmouth, Dominica and lived and worked in Dominica before doing her studies in France and then moving to the United States.
