On Tuesday April 3, 2012 viewers to BBC America will be introduced to a new original adventure cooking competition ‘No Kitchen Required.’ In the first episode of the series three renowned chefs will rappel into the exotic Caribbean island of Dominica.

Equipped with only their knives and secret ingredients of choice, they are expected to search for the ingredients for their meals, prepare it and then share with the Kalinago people of Dominica who will judge the winner.

No Kitchen Left Behind is being touted as “big in scope as ‘The Amazing Race’ or ‘Survivor,’. Hosted by Dr. Shini Somara, chefs Kayne Raymond , Michael Psilakis and Madison Cowan are dropped off in remote locations where they must work with the locals to hunt, forage and collect ingredients for a locally-inspired meal.

For the opening episode filmed in Dominica, the three chefs will join the Kalinago community for a traditional performance and an exquisite feast, before setting out to hunt. But they must first master spear fishing, track a manicou through the dense jungle, blindly hunt for crustaceans in using a spear gun, and forage for tropical fruits and root vegetables like coconuts and yams.

They then have to fight the rain and wind to keep their fires going while they prepare their meal in a given amount of time.

Other countries targeted in the series are Belize, Thailand, New Zealand, Fiji, and Hawaii, as well as New Mexico, Louisiana and Florida in the United States.

Chef Kayne Raymond has appearances on Food Network’s ‘Chopped,’ and has served as the Private Executive Chef to a slew of exclusive clients, including the former CEO of Apple.

New York chef and restaurateur Michael Psilakis owns acclaimed restaurants Kefi and Fish Tag in New York City, and has appeared on Food Network’s ‘Iron Chef’ and ‘Ultimate Recipe Showdown. British born chef, Madison Cowan has also been featured on Food Network’s ‘Chopped.
