Discover Dominica Authority to participate in US and UK Trade Shows

Roseau, Dominica (TDN) — The Discover Dominica Authority will be participating in two trade shows within the next coming weeks. The first will be the DEMA dive show carded for Orlando from Nov. 2 – 5, 2011. DEMA is the only international trade-only event for the diving, action water sports and travel industries. It is expected that thousands of dive industry professionals will gather at the DEMA show during the four days, which provides an opportunity to meet face-to-face with the most highly qualified diving professionals.

The Discover Dominica Authority is looking to continue working with the dive industry partners Henderson Wetsuits, SeaLife Cameras and Oceanic. During the show Henderson Wetsuits and the DDA will be drawing for the winner of their online contest which ran from May this year. The 2 winners, consumer and trade professional will be awarded a Dive Vacation grand prize trip to Dominica including 10 dives – sponsored by Dive Dominica, 7-nights accommodation sponsored by Fort young Hotel and land tours sponsored by KHATTS Tours.
This is the first step in the partnership with Henderson. The DDA will be confirming the programmes and terms of agreement on partnerships with SeaLife Cameras and Oceanic during DEMA. The Dominica contingent will consist of DWA President, DDA Representatives, dive operators – Dive Dominica and Fort Young Hotel.
The second trade show will be the World Travel Market in London, UK carded for November 7 – 10, 2011. WTM is the leading global event for the travel industry, a vibrant must attend four-day business-to-business event presenting a diverse range of destinations and industry sectors to UK and international travel professionals.
The DDA is looking to take advantage of this opportunity to meet with the global travel trade, network, negotiate and conduct business. Mr. Colin Piper, Director of Tourism reported ”That talks will be held with BVI Airways and LIAT with a view to improving access into Dominica, as well as with tour operators to discuss continued marketing and promotions of the destination” The Dominica contingent will consist of representatives from DDA, Dominica Tours, Jungle Bay Resort & Spa and Cocoa Cottages along with UK representatives, The Saltmarsh Partnership.
