Could the Chinese Triad make their way to Dominica?

Roseau, Dominica (TDN) — Over my life time I have encountered many events and learned much, one area is the Chinese customary way of life in what can only be described as the proletariat way. However of the hundreds of millions of Chinese who live honourably and in peace although coupled with strife, there is a small minority according to official figures of 1.5 million gang members of the organisation entitled in Pinyin dialect " sanhehui."
triad
The Chinese Triad.

In Mandarin this organisation is known more popularly as the " triads " worldwide the organisation according to official figures is much higher reaching more than 2.5 million, they operate in waters close to China in places like Hong Kong, Macao, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, to name but a few.

However those in the wider world community ranging from Australia, Canada, the UK, the USA and more makes up the 2.5 million active members.

This Sanhehui are the most professional organised crime syndicate in the modern world that make the Mafia, Cosanostra call it what you will look like clowns in the underworld, they are sophisticated and connected as indeed the Mafia are but on a hugely smaller scale.

If only by weight of numbers, the effects however are the same one of pain and misery to the innocents who inhabit this mortal world, be it drugs, prostitution, contract work, even as far as government sub control, money laundering. In fact corruption of those already corrupt is a serious focal point for their attention.

On the other side of the coin there are many Chinese who inhabit territories away from China who conduct their lives in a decent way. What does not change however is the Chinese custom, these Chinese citizens conduct business not only professionally but honestly, they will pay taxes, they will be legal in every respect.

But whatever profit that they may make apart from living expenses etc. will go to their families in China simply because they need it, the effect is that EC dollars apart from legal dues are not ploughed back into the community they inhabit, so it is a loss to that country.

Should children ensue in the family they will have the status of national but will be brought up in China to experience the Chinese custom, which is one of industry and hard work. I have travelled the length and breadth of China and know this to be the case, the men in the main when time permits spend the time gambling the profits going back to China, whilst the real workhorses are the women in every case. I have many Chinese friends who it has been a privilege to know and I respect them.

What I do not respect is the blindness and ignorance of those few who think and believe that they know best due to the parliamentary position they hold and consider that in brain power alone they are ahead on points.

Yes people like Skerrit who allow and permit the sacred soil of the "Garden of Eden" Dominica to be blinded by Chinese money yes 1 billion a lot of cash to take a share of very nice but the cost is higher.

Governments, as well as Diplomatic envoys are trained to look and to seek out power points for their advantage, to do business with a corrupt regime always pays dividends for lenders a practice adopted by the sanhehui.

That is business, one billion needs profit for the lenders, unless there are special circumstances like certain privileges given to Chinese nationals. The Chinese know from the wide publicity that Skerrit can be manipulated and can be used.

And whilst legitimacy can be seen to a degree like " aren't the Chinese just great " look what they have done for us poor impoverished Dominicans. What, a few roads, a none descript sports arena, " when you look around the wider world " a silly unwanted house for president, all lovely and very nice but the cost will be punitive.

Already Chinese take jobs, the stupid insane appointment of a none English speaking English doctor, the undeclared memorandum of agreement.

The Chinese look to corrupt leaders and will work them till they bleed, do not think that this is not normal it is very normal. The Chinese want their share of profit and if that weakens the already poor folk of Dominica tough "its only business."

What measures are in place to ensure that the sanhehui or triads do not follow the new population to Dominica, it is their practice to follow new Chinese inhabitants in a new territory to widen the area of profit for the criminal organisation they belong to.

Have the police in Dominica organised Criminal Organised Checks with the authorities in China? Or has the secret memorandum of understanding allowed willy nilly any Chinese national into Dominica without let or hindrance?
