Two Dominicans Arrested in Grenada With Over US$140 000 The Dominican.net Newsdesk
Immigration authorities in Grenada have announced the arrest of two Dominicans for having in their possession more than US$142,000.
The two women, twentyfour year old Shana Challenger and nineteen year old Tasha Martin, both of Roseau, were arrested at the Point Salinas International airport after arriving on a LIAT flight from Bridgetown, Barbados.
After having been questioned by Immigration officers, members of the Grenada Drug Squad were called in and a search was conducted on both females.
Challenger was wearing a cream �LaCoste� pouch around her waist, which contained US$559.30 and Euro$2,500.00. A further search by the officers revealed a total of US$30,000 and Euro$39,000 on the lower part of her body supported by tights.
Martin also had a blue �LaCoste� pouch around her waist, containing US$1,450.00 and Euro$2,500.00. A search was also conducted on Martin, revealing US$30,000 and Euro$23,000, hidden in her shorts.
It was not immediately clear on what specific charges the two were being held, but they remain in Police custody.
