Freedom Party to hold memorial mass for Dame Eugenia Charles
Press Release of the DFP

Roseau, Dominica A memorial mass will be said for the late Dame Mary Eugenia Charles former Prime Minister and Political Leader of the Dominica Freedom Party at the Roseau Cathedral on Thursday March 2, 2006.

The mass is being organized by the Dominica Freedom Party to give the very many Dominicans who could not attend the funeral service because of its private nature, the opportunity to pay their respects to a Dominican icon, a person who touched the lives of very many Dominicans in so many ways.

The date was also chosen to allow the very many visiting Dominicans expected to be here for carnival and who could not be here for the funeral an opportunity to say farewell to this great Dominican.

Msgr. William Jno. Lewis, Dean of the Cathedral, will be the main celebrant at the mass which is expected to begin at 7pm. It is also expected that tribute will be paid to Dame Eugenia at an appropriate time in the Mass.

Dominicans from all walks of life are invited to attend particularly constituents of the Roseau Central constituency which she represented in Parliament for 20 years.
