Miami, USA (TDN) HCP/Aboard Publishing, a subsidiary of the Miami Herald Media Company, announces the launch of MIA Connections, a digital magazine developed in partnership with Miami International Airport (MIA) and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB).

Designed specifically for MIA travelers, the tourism-focused magazine covers the amazing array of entertainment and dining options at MIA as well as information about Greater Miami and the Beaches, with the latest on hotels, restaurants, entertainment, shopping, events and attractions. It will be released quarterly in both English and Spanish beginning February 18th.

MIA Connections
will be accessible to passengers traveling to or from MIA at www.miaconnex.com via a complimentary Wi-Fi portal. The digital magazine’s engaging content and interactive layout—which includes an array of videos, galleries, links and other features—will bring the Miami experience to life, informing and entertaining travelers with timely and relevant coverage.

Content is designed to appeal to the affluent air traveler, with celebrity interviews, highlighted destinations from around the world, fashion, business, real estate and tech trends, arts and culture, sports, nightlife and more. It also spotlights everything that makes MIA unique, and how the airport reflects the exciting, international Miami lifestyle.

Advertisers will have the opportunity to feature their products and services throughout the magazine, which allows them to bring their brands to life via the interactive options available in this innovative format. The magazine will be promoted in more than 800 displays and digital advertisements around the airport and online.

“We’re thrilled to partner with the GMCVB and HCP/Aboard in this new endeavor, which not only highlights the best our community has to offer, but also showcases the ongoing improvements and customer service enhancements at Miami International Airport, such as our award-winning shops and restaurants, world-class art installations, and new intermodal connections. More importantly, MIA Connections will help to further expand and strengthen our engagement with passengers,” says Emilio T. González, Ph.D., Director of the Miami-Dade Aviation Department.

“With more than 96% of our 14.2 million overnight visitors to Greater Miami arriving by air, MIA plays a vital role in the continued growth of our travel and tourism industry, and offers the unique opportunity to further promote Miami as a destination to an audience that ranges from international business travelers to vacationing families,” says William D. Talbert III, CDME,

President & CEO of the GMCVB. “Building on our longtime relationship with HCP/Aboard, MIA Connections allows us to provide that highly sought-after audience with informative and entertaining content, while engaging with them in an innovative fashion.”

MIA Connections will allow the more than 40 million annual passengers traveling through MIA to discover, through a highly engaging and interactive digital magazine, the sights and sounds that make Miami—and many of its destination cities—so special,” says Erin Zilis, President & Publisher of HCP/Aboard. “Businesses that would like to reach those travelers will have a unique opportunity to do so within the layout of the magazine.”
