Roseau, Dominica(TDN) -- History will be created this coming weekend when for the first time ever, Dominica carnival patrons will be able to view live carnival events from that country using their mobile devices.
TDN Entertainment has partnered with MARPIN 2K4 Ltd a leading telecommunications company in Dominica and with the use of the latest technology will combine to bring the live Pay Per View (PPV) carnival events.
This is the second year the two entities have combined to bring live carnival events but this is the first time it will be offered on all mobile devices including cell phones and I-pads. This is in addition to the usual showing on personal computers over the internet.
Manager of TDN Entertainment Sam George views this as a tremendous step in bringing events from Dominica to a largely Diaspora audience. “We are aware that people are constantly on the move and would be desirous of seeing for themselves the carnival events in Dominica. With this offering they do not have to fret over not being at their homes but can effectively view the events anywhere there is a good connection on their mobile devices,” George noted.
The first PPV event to be offered to the public will be the staging of the Showdown Mas Camp on Friday 14, 2014 followed by the calypso semi-finals on Saturday 15, 2015. Other scheduled events for viewing include the Miss Dominica beauty pageant, the teenage pageant, the junior calypso monarch and the grand finals of the calypso monarch competition.
Other none PPV events, which can also be accessed during that time will be the carnival openings in Portsmouth and St Joseph, the ole mas and sensay display and street jumpup on carnival Monday and Tuesday.
Patrons will be able to tune in to tdnentertainment.net to sign up for viewing of the live pay per view coverage of the events.
